H.E. Dr. Chop Lal Bhusal assumed his office as Ambassador of Nepal to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on 7th June 2017 and presented his letter of credence to President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh H.E. Abdul Hamid on 18th July 2017 in Banga Bhavan, Dhaka. Before beginning his diplomatic carrier, he served as a professor of Medical Science at the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuban University, Nepal for 30 years. He has served in various institutions of Nepal in different capacities. He was the chairperson of Nepal Health Research Council for 4 years, member of High level Health Advisory Committee of the Government of Nepal for 4 years, president of All Nepal Medical Association for 2 years, director of National Project for Drug Abuse Demand Reduction Project (supported by UNDP) Under Ministry of Home affairs for 5 years.
Prof. Bhusal served as an executive board member in BP Koirala Institute of Health Science (BPKISH), Patan Academy of Health Science (PAHS), and National Academy of Medical Science (NAMS). Currently he is in the editorial advisory board of a scientific journal, Journal of Nepal Medical Association (JNMA).
Prof. Bhusal obtain his basic education from Tribhuvan University Nepal and graduated from People’s Friendship University (PFU), Moscow. He completed his post graduate degree again from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
He has acquired several professional trainings including “Strengthing Human resources for health” from Harvard School of Public Health”, Boston, USA. He has more than 40 scientific publications in National and International journals.
