The exchanges of visits at various levels have further strengthened the bilateral relations between Nepal and Bangladesh. Rt. Hon. President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari paid a State Visit to Bangladesh on 22-23 March 2021 to attend the birth centenary of Bangladesh’s ‘Father of the Nation’ Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence. H. E. Mr. Md. Abdul Hamid, President of Bangladesh, paid an official goodwill visit to Nepal on 12 – 15 November 2019.
At the invitation of Bangladesh’s Chief Justice Hon. Mr. Obaidul Hassan, the Rt. Hon. Chief Justice Mr. Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha visited Bangladesh from 6-9 June 2024. During the visit, he attended as the Guest of Honour the “International Conference on Judiciary Across the Borders: 21st Century Challenges and Experiences from the Himalayas and Beyond” held in Dhaka on 8 June 2024.
The recent ministerial visit from Bangladesh includes the visit of the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser of the Interim Government of Bangladesh H.E. Ms. Rizwana Hasan from 2-4 October to witness the signing of the tripartite agreement to export 40 MW of electricity from Nepal to Bangladesh through the Indian grid.
