২৬২তম নেপালি সেনা দিবস উদযাপন উপলক্ষ্যে আয়োজিত এই অনুষ্ঠানে আপনাদের সকলকে স্বাগত জানাতে পেরে আমি অত্যন্ত আনন্দিত।
এই দিনে, আমরা নেপালি সেনাবাহিনীর অসাধারণ সাহস, দৃঢ় সংকল্প, নির্ভীকতা এবং নিষ্ঠা উদযাপন করি।
নেপাল এবং নেপালি জনগণের প্রতি তাদের নিষ্ঠা, আনুগত্য এবং ভক্তির জন্য আমরা শ্রদ্ধা জানাই।
এই দিনে, আমরা নেপাল এবং বাংলাদেশের সশস্ত্র বাহিনীর মধ্যে চমৎকার সহযোগিতামূলক এবং দ্বিপাক্ষিক সম্পর্ক আরও মজবুত করতে তাদের অবদানকে স্মরণ করি।
এই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দিনে আপনাদের সকলের সদয় উপস্থিতির জন্য আমার আন্তরিক কৃতজ্ঞতা।
Distinguished guests,
It is an honour and privilege for me to welcome you to this programme organized to mark the 262nd anniversary of the historic establishment of the Nepali Army.
At the outset, I would like to express my gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff of Bangladesh Army, General Waker-Uz-Zaman for kindly agreeing to be our Chief Guest this evening.
I would also like to thank you all for your gracious presence.
On this special day, we remember and pay tribute to the sacrifices of the brave men and women of the Nepali Army. We celebrate their unwavering dedication, loyalty, and patriotism, with which they serve Nepal and Nepali people.
The Nepali Army has always stood the test of times, be it in protecting Nepal’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity or in delivering for the safety, security, and aspirations of our people.
Whether as the first responders in times of natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, landslides, or through their contributions to Nepal’s socio-economic development, our soldiers are popularly known for their fearlessness, professionalism, dedication and discipline.
They have also earned a similar reputation on the international stage, particularly owing to their contributions as UN peacekeepers.
As of today, over 1, 54, 000 Nepali personnel have served in as many as 44 UN peacekeeping missions in various conflict-ridden places for the noble cause of international peace and security.
At present, we are the largest troops and police-contributing country. Close to 6000 Nepali blue helmets are currently serving in 13 different UN peace operations across the globe.
Excellencies, and Dear Friends,
We take great pride in the enduring friendship between Nepal and Bangladesh. This continues to thrive on the backdrop of true neighbourliness and our shared aspirations for progress and prosperity.
One key component of this relationship is the cooperation between the Nepali Army and the Bangladesh Armed Forces.
Mutual understanding and camaraderie between our two Armies continues to grow including through high-level military exchanges, exchange of training opportunities, capacity development programmes, and joint exercises.
I do not want to go into further details (and repeat what our Military Attaché Col. Anjan Keshar Khatri has already shared with you) but would like to take this opportunity to thank the Bangladesh Armed Forces for the excellent support and cooperation Nepali Army and Nepali people have received in different fields.
I am confident that the bond between our two Armies will be further consolidated, thereby ultimately contributing to the strengthening of the friendly ties between our two countries.
I am equally confident that, as we honor the sacrifices and celebrate the achievements of our Armed Forces, we will also be able to draw inspiration for ourselves from their dedication to duty and service.
