Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)
The Government of Nepal has introduced Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) in place of visa stickers/handwritten visas for all applicants planning to visit Nepal. Accordingly, the Embassy has started issuing eTAs instead of visa stickers/handwritten visas.
- Applicants are required to upload a recent passport-size photograph and a copy of their passport while submitting an online visa application. Please note that the images of the documents should not exceed 4 MB.
- Diplomatic and official visas are issued on the basis of official written communication along with a copy of a duly filled-in visa application.
- Private sector employees are required to submit a recommendation letter or a No Objection Letter from their employer.
- Students are required to submit a valid student ID card or a recommendation letter from their college/university.
- Any organization submitting visa applications for a group is required to provide a list of applicants along with their passport numbers on the organization's letterhead with an official seal and signature.
- Travel agencies intending to submit visa applications on behalf of their clients must submit to the Embassy a valid trade license, company profile, and travel agency registration certificate issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism. Subject to approval by the Embassy, such agencies may submit applications along with a list of applicants and their passport numbers on the agency's letterhead with the official seal and signature.
- All visa applicants are required to submit copies of their visa application form, passport, National ID Card or Birth Certificate, two-way flight booking, and hotel booking.
- Online visa application forms are accepted on working days (Sunday to Thursday) from 09:30 am to 12:30 pm. Applications submitted with incorrect details or without the required documents will not be accepted. Please click here to submit your online visa application.
- Please note that visa processing takes two (2) working days. Visa delivery time is from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
*** The Embassy of Nepal reserves the right to request additional documents, as deemed necessary.
